Timing is everything in the start-up industry. To find success, it’s important to know when — and how — to launch a product. Through his experience, Matthew Mansell saw a gap in the fitness and gym industry and decided to create a platform to address it.
Matthew Mansell was a pro rugby player. After realizing this was not his path to take, he quit and decided to look for something else. To fill his time in the meantime, he signed up for gym membership, tennis, and got a hold of some boutique packages in London. He quickly realized he could financially sustain all of them.
It was not all for a loss, however. Through this experience the Athlo founder noticed that tennis courts were practically empty during off-peak hours, gym memberships were under-utilized, and that some of these gyms had a high turnover rate, making it difficult for them to find new members.
And that’s when he came up with the idea of the next fitness unicorn, Athlo, a platform that would help gyms and fitness centers gain and retain new members, enable gym customers to utilize a range of various fitness facilities without having to pay full membership dues or subscription fees, and also give members the opportunity to recoup on costs of memberships.
- Help gyms gain and retain new members.
Through the platform, fitness centers and gyms are able to sign up new members. In addition, they also have the ability to retain their existing members by offering a range of discounts and promos, as well as offering premium membership packages that provide varying levels of amenities.
- Enable gym customers to utilize a range of various fitness facilities.
Fitness centers and gyms are able to offer access to different fitness classes, placing an emphasis on personal fitness in comparison to commercial fitness parties.
- Help members recoup on costs of memberships.
Customers have the opportunity to gain back the money they spent on their gym membership if they take advantage of Athlo’s platform to find alternative methods of working out. They are also allowed to let other people use their membership as well by offering it out as a secondary service. Go here for related Information.
