John Thomas Hailer is an American financial services executive born on December 8, 1935. He currently serves as the CEO of Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. and has a net worth of $1.4 billion as of 2018. Hailer is Professor Emeritus at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he served as the chairperson between 1982 and 1983 and also in 2000 before retiring from teaching altogether in 2010 with the leadership of Dr. Patrick Haggard, who would go on to become one-time CEO.

John Hailer has been married to his wife, Janet, since 1957, with whom he has two children. After graduating from the University of North Dakota, Hailer joined the United States Marine Corps as a second lieutenant in 1957 to fight in the Vietnam War. He served for two years before returning home.
