Christopher Terry IM Mastery Academy CEO, Chris Terry Gives Back
Christopher Terry, CEO of IM Academy, has shared his personal story and how he overcame one of life’s biggest obstacles: a learning disability. This is a powerful message that we can all learn from and reminds us that the most important ingredient to success is commitment to your goals.
Chris’s father passed away at age 42 leaving behind his wife and two small children. Growing up with a hardworking mother who had two jobs, Christopher Terry IM Mastery Academy was faced with the challenge of catching up on what he missed in school due to his disability, which included learning disabilities such as dyslexia, attention deficit disorder (ADD), ADHD, among others.
He also had a learning disability that made it hard for him to read and retain information. He would revisit the same material over and over until he was able to comprehend it. As a result, he struggled in school and spent most of his time running around with friends instead of studying. He did not receive his high school diploma until he was 33 years old, but in light of his accomplishments thereafter, this achievement seems almost trivial.
Before starting IMA, he worked for companies like Apple, Intel, HP and Oracle; but always felt he could do more by starting and building something on his own—and so he did! IMA was founded in 2012 with only $37 in savings.

The group was designed for people who were in similar situations to himself, which included learning disabilities—and since then it has grown to over 300,000 members and continues growing.
