Success Story of Advisor and Philanthropist Doug Haynes

Doug HaynesDouglas (Doug) Haynes is a valued advisor to the most influential people in business and a generous philanthropist to many deserving charities. He has helped many in his roles as President of The Council and Managing Partner of Council Advisors (previously G100).

Doug is a Shermet Scholar at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and has a 4.0 GPA in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University.

Before joining McKinsey & Company in 1992, he worked as a software developer for the CIA, an engineer in GE Plastics’ design department, and a marketing executive for the company.

During his time at McKinsey, he contributed to developing the Basic Materials, Operations, and High Technology practices in numerous offices across the globe (Atlanta, London, Connecticut, and New York).

Doug Haynes was the president of Point72 Asset Management before taking his current role. During his four years at the helm, the company saw unprecedented growth, the reinstatement of its founder’s SEC license, the launch of a venture capital arm, and the largest-ever fundraising round for a company in its industry.

Doug is currently the President of the Council and the Managing Partner of Council Advisors, both of which cater to Enterprise Leaders.

His Roles as a Philanthropist

Doug was also pivotal in establishing the nonprofit organization The Center for Global Enterprise; whose declared mission is to “improve the international economy by increasing the leadership of global enterprises.”

As a generous person, Doug Haynes prioritizes helping those who served our country in the armed forces. With his help, the Cohen Veteran’s Network and Cohen Veteran’s Bioscience were established. Doug is currently a member of the Cohen Veteran’s Bioscience Advisory Board.

Among his many ventures as CEO are the Swedish health information services company FRISQ, the Swiss logistics firm ChainIQ and the all-in-one workspace Vega Factor.

The firm employs the science of total motivation to help businesses and individuals reach their full potential, and the commercial real estate investment resource Obsidian Asset Management.

Many companies, from Singtel and Villanova to Canterbury and Randolph Macon, have benefited from his advice as a consultant or board member

Although Doug’s wife Laurice is from New York, the couple has made the Scarborough neighborhood their permanent residence.

Laurice is the proprietor of the Fountain Inn B&B and the creator of T2X Rehabilitation and Functional Mobility, in addition to serving on the advisory board of Rising Starr Equine Rescue. With their five grown children, they have a lot to be pleased about as parents.
