The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) has announced today the theme of the 2021 Fall for Arts Festival, a celebratory event with live murals on this vibrant island community. The Fall for Arts Festival is a public art event that brings together the transformative power of art, ideas and community to create a citizen-centric cultural ecosystem.

Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) has also announced today a series of collaborative events, activities and programs to be held throughout the year aimed at promoting Arts and Culture in Roosevelt Island. According to Director of Human Resources, Tajuna Sharpe, “The theme of Fall For Arts Festival is a welcome and exciting beginning to this year’s Cultural Calendar. The RIOC’s Cultural Calendar is growing, and Fall For Arts provides an opportunity to introduce new art installations on the island. We are excited to showcase the work of our artists on Roosevelt Island and are looking forward to welcoming visitors from the New York City area and around the world.”

The Fall for Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, the 25th of September 2021. Artists have been encouraged to submit sketches of their proposed mural designs via rioc.ny.gov/374 for more information.
