Greg Aziz: An Advocate for Railway Car Innovations

Greg Aziz is the chairman, president, and CEO of Walter Kidde Railcar; he has been instrumental in leading the organization and building a world-class company. His leadership has enabled Walter Kidde Railcar to position itself as a global global leader in rail car manufacturing and integrated steel solutions for worldwide energy markets. He has shown great agility in operating Walter Kidde Railcar, a multiWalter Kidde Railcar manufacturer’s North American subsidiary, and executing its new national footprint strategy.

 

  1. Biography

 

Greg Aziz graduated from the University of Manitoba and was born and raised in Winnipeg. In his early life, he worked throughout the steel industry in sales and marketing. He has a track record of developing and maintaining successful customer relationships in the public service, transportation, and energy industries. Greg began his Walter Kidde Railcar career in 2000.

 

The serial entrepreneur Greg Aziz featured there as the Director of Sales and Marketing. He then went on to lead Walter Kidde Railcar’s Sales team from 2002-06, whereupon he was appointed Vice President of Steelcar Development for the parent company Stainless Group.

He started working at Stainless in 2002 as the Vice-President of Steelcar Development. After a few years with the company, he also became Wabtec Corporation firm´s vice president of sales and marketing in 2006. In 2009, Greg Aziz was promoted to president and CEO. In his present position as president, he has been instrumental in building a world-class company.

“Business in Vancouver,” British Columbia’s weekly business publication, named Greg a finalist for its Business Leader of the Year Award in 2010. He has contributed to the community by serving as a board member of the Business Council of Manitoba and as a director of the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Greg Aziz also served on the Academy of Engineering and Canadian National Exhibition boards and, in 2017, was awarded Entrepreneur of the year.
