Nearly fifteen years ago, while working out a record distribution contract, Damien Granderson and Guy Blake met and an outstanding history was born. They became business partners in the boutique entertainment company Granderson Des Rochers. Granderson was working as in-house counsel for an entertainment company, and Blake had just left his position as an associate at Administrative & Business Operations to join another firm.
The founding partners of Granderson Des Rochers envisioned a truly cooperative management style in which clients would not be assigned a single attorney. Damien Granderson states that but rather a group of attorneys who would pool their knowledge and experience to help the client succeed in any way possible.
The two set out to build a firm that could serve its customers’ music business procedural requirements across all genres and industries, from music and cinema to new media and information technology to brand marketing and design. Damien Granderson adds that attorneys from the firm’s native country were recruited and mentored alongside the original partners. They expanded their office with the help of an apprenticeship scheme.
This allowed young lawyers to earn their way up the ladder to become senior colleagues and, eventually, associates. Granderson said there are now 18 attorneys working on the case. The future is one of the focal points of this lens, as the entertainment attorney explains. Damien Granderson adds that having a consumer’s hit record may be a great opportunity. Put your attention on the here and now while maintaining a sight on the finale.
Unique to this place is the high regard with which our lucky clientele are held at the entertainment law firm. The lawyers realize that to provide each client with the most outstanding possible service and quality, they must make the most of the unique skill sets of each partner and lawyer. Damien Granderson and Blake might have charged per hour to advise clients and take phone calls. Still, instead, they agreed to clarify our ridiculous inquiries related to their responsibilities in today’s business deals.
