Brandon Silverstein Brings We The Band to Avex Music Group Roster

CEO Brandon Silverstein has announced We The Band as the debut artist signing for Avex Music Group, bringing Justin Bieber’s backing musicians into the company’s expanding entertainment portfolio. The collective features Harv, Tay James, Julian Michael, Devin “Stixx” Taylor and O’Neil Palmer across multiple instruments and production roles.

Each member contributes distinct expertise to the group. Tay James holds the longest relationship with Bieber, serving as A&R and DJ since 2009. Harv’s portfolio includes co-writing and co-producing “Peaches,” which became a defining track in Bieber’s recent catalog and established Harv’s connection to Silverstein’s publishing operation.

“We can’t wait for our fans to hear what we’ve been working on,” We The Band said of their upcoming debut album, currently in production at Avex Studios in Los Angeles.

Silverstein Consolidates Entertainment Vision

The signing represents the first major artist acquisition since Silverstein took control of Avex Music Group in March. His appointment followed a comprehensive deal that saw Japanese entertainment company Avex purchase his S10 Music Publishing catalog and expand its investment in S10 Management, making Avex the primary stakeholder alongside Silverstein and Roc Nation.

Silverstein’s combined operation has demonstrated consistent hit-making ability. The publishing division secured three top-20 positions on Mediabase’s year-end radio chart, including the number-one spot with Tate McRae’s “Greedy.” Additional chart success includes Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills” and Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby.”

“Katsumi Kuroiwa and the entire team at Avex have been exceptional partners to me, as well as to the producers, songwriters, and artists at S10,” Silverstein said of the expanded relationship with Avex CEO Katsumi Kuroiwa.

His approach emphasizes creative autonomy within a global support structure. “Creatives are craving boutique companies that are fresh and exciting and are globally positioned,” Silverstein explained. “We want to back the artist’s vision and the writer’s vision and the producer’s vision and allow them to be their own CEO.”

We The Band’s debut project will feature multiple guest collaborations, though specific artists remain undisclosed. The album targets a late 2025 release as the group transitions from their supporting role with Bieber to headline status under Silverstein’s direction at Avex Music Group.
