Doug Haynes Explains How Businesses Can Achieve Success

Doug HaynesDoug Haynes is an executive adviser who believes that the human element is a significant additive to success’s functional and technical underpinnings. Doug has emphasized the importance of creating mutually beneficial relations with his clients throughout his career. Doug says his passion is guiding his subjects to become high-performing teams, better leaders, and achieve more in life.

Doug Haynes is the CEO of The Council, an advisory firm that provides consultation services to private and public capitalists. Before creating the Council, Mr. Haynes served at Point72 Asset as the President. He had also served at McKinsey & Company, where he served for 22 years. Haynes joined McKinsey & Company in 1992; he was delegated duties to lead the Northeast US region. Doug was a founding partner of this firm’s Technology-based Services venture. Before this, he had worked as a design engineer and software developer at the USA CIA.

Mr. Haynes started his career focusing on technology before switching to consultation. He graduated from West Virginia University with high honors and a mechanical engineering degree. Doug enhanced his skills when he worked at various firms, such as GE Plastics Business Group, where he worked as an engineer.

Doug Haynes developed an interest in business and therefore went to study a business course at the Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia. Doug says shifting careers wasn’t easy, but he managed to carry on. Doug says he had never heard anything about consultation until he stepped into the business school.

Doug says that he is challenged when the opportunity arises where he can use his skills to assist people. He is involved in various nonprofit organizations. Mr. Haynes funds programs that assist veterans, fight poverty and enhance education. He serves on the boards of Cohen Veterans Network, which assists various army troops, the Camp Southern Ground, and the Robin Hood Foundation, which fights poverty in New York.

Mr. Haynes’ philanthropic acts have assisted in the launching of the Robin Hood Foundation advisory board. Doug also serves as a consultant on the boards of the Canterbury School, the Darden Graduate School of Business, the Randolph Macon Academy, and SingTel Corporation.
